Wishing You A Mindful Christmas

Scrolling through Instagram as we lead up to the holidays can be overwhelming. An ad every 4th photo, influencers releasing gift guides, crazy sales, and incentives to purchase different products. All of this adds to the seemingly endless pressure to buy presents, holiday outfits, food, drinks, and attend holiday parties (seriously the list could go on and on). But the content that really jumps out seems to go against the grain of our typical feed. When we came across this post it really gave us some food for thought. What if we approached gift-giving this year in a much more mindful way?

As a result of the chaos over the last couple of years, months and weeks, people are struggling with things we might not be aware of. Financial struggles, grief, anxiety, relationships, minimal time, lack of support - these are just a few examples of the hardships your friends or family members could be facing. Instead of wrapping up a new or used physical gift why not ask them what they truly need? What would they appreciate over any gadget, toy, or clothing you could buy?

So we challenge you to start the conversation with the people you want to give to this year. Find out what they would love to receive and if you have the capacity to do it, give them the gift they will appreciate most. This can also open a doorway for you to be able to ask for what you truly need. Spreading holiday cheer isn't through presents but presence - giving your time, hugging those you love, and helping anyone who needs it.
